Frequently Asked Questions

  1. My computer is an older system. Will NesdaTrak work on it?
  2. NesdaTrak has been designed to work on any Windows system with the following recommended:
    Minimum:
    - Pentium 133mhz, Windows 95, Screen resolution - 800x600 256 colors, 16meg Ram, 20 mg Hard Drive space, Internet access for updates
    Recommended:
    - Greater than: Pentium II 200mhz, Windows 95 , Screen resolution - 800x600 16 million colors, 32 mg Ram, 20 mg Hard Drive space, Internet access for updates
    To run on a network with < 1000 profiles (clients + volunteers)..... Same system as recommended system requirements + 10bps peer to peer network using shared directory
    To run on a network with >1000 profiles (clients + volunteers)..... Same system as recommended system requirements + Server with Windows NT Server + 100mbs network

  3. Do I need to purchase the full software package?
  4. No, one of the biggest advantages in purchasing our software is that clients do not pay for something they don't need. While it is necessary to purchase and maintain a minimum of three modules, a client has the full choice of which modules they choose.

  5. How difficult is it to backup my data once I've entered it into NesdaTrak?
  6. We strongly believe in the need to back up data, financial information, customer/client records, etc. A feature of NesdaTrak is in the ability to back up data to our own secure servers. Through the use of a ZipFile, data can be uploaded quickly and safely. This ensures that, should your data on your own PC ever be lost or damaged, we are able to retrieve your confidential records and set you up again with data as current as your last submitted backup.

  7. Do I need to have the Internet to use the software?
  8. It is recommended that you do have access to the Internet. Aside from being able to back your data up as explained above, updates are downloadable over the Internet. The use of this method of backup also allows us to see and troubleshoot any problems that occur with your data files.

  9. Is there a cost for upgrades and how do I get them?
  10. Once registered as a client, updates are FREE and available for download over the Internet. We automatically notify all registered clients when updates are released.

  11. Can I change the number or type of programs/modules I use?
  12. It is a requirement of NesdaTrak that a minimum of three modules must be initially purchased and maintained. Although the software contains all available modules, it is set up to reconfigure itself in order that you only see information pertaining to the number of modules you have purchased. No confusing screens! You have the option to change the types of modules within your contracted number purchased. You may also purchase additional modules for $100.00 each. Note: With the purchase of additional modules, it is necessary to adjust the Maintenance Contract accordingly.

  13. How can I transfer data from my current system to NesdaTrak?
  14. If your current data can be exported as a .txt file, we can import it into the format required to work within NesdaTrak.

  15. Do I need to buy a copy of NesdaTrak for each computer in our office?
  16. NesdaTrak offers its clients the option of purchasing a site license for up to 50 users.

  17. Do I need to install a version upgrade on each system in our network?
  18. No, once an upgrade has been uploaded on one computer, it will automatically update each computer's version of NesdaTrak on your network.
